Our Canvas site will allow you to do four main things:

1. Check the status of your Essays and Proficiency Demos.
2. Check the status of your In- and Out-of-Class Tasks.
3. Check daily Class Agendas with Homework Information.
4. Provide a convenient place to upload Essays to Turnitin.

Canvas is not keeping track of class attendance, but it's
important to note that we're improvising and using the
convenient features of that category to keep track of the
status of your Tasks (not your attendance). Canvas was
primarily designed to report grades in terms of points, so
if we're not using points we're going to have to be a bit
creative in the way we use Canvas (like an artist).

We're improvising with the attendance category--which is
not recording attendance--because it offers an easy way
to record, access, and view your running total of all Tasks.
The wording may be off, but now you know how to
interpret it.
